On 7th – 9th February, Maxine Udale and Rita Wood attended the Fellowship of Directors (FOD) Weekend in Walsall facilitated by Kim Webb, LABBS Singing Category Director. The guest educators were Gillyanne Kayes and Jeremy Fisher, professional voice coaches. The vocal exercises and techniques they introduced have already had a positive effect on the chorus.

On 11th February several of the chorus travelled to Potton for a coaching session with Roger Payne, a Music Category Specialist from SPEBSQSA. Although the time was short it was educational just watching Roger coaching Phoenix, and some of the techniques he briefly touched on reinforced the skills Maxine and Rita had learned at the FOD Weekend.
